Two blondes were going to Disneyland when they came to a fork in the road. The sign read: "Disneyland Left." So they went home.

X-Men 3: The last stand

This review contains spoliers.  Watch at your own risk!

I couldn't wait until this film came out.  I loved the first two so I expected the same standards for this film.  Boy was I ever wrong!  This film really wasn't up to the same standards as the other two films in anyway shape or form.

Everything just happened too easily.  What really horrified me though is that the X-Men used 'the cure' on Magneto.  This was just wrong.  This made them no better than Magneto who in the first film wanted to turn all homo-sapians into mutants.  But the film made out that they were justified to do this.

They also killed off three main charactors... .yep that's right, three main characters.  Dr. Xavior, Scott and Jean.  I have friends who are huge X-men fans so I knew what Jean was going to turn into so I knew how that one was going to turn out but Scott and the Professor.  I hope they are coming back for the fourth because they were great charactors.  I must confess I couldn't care less if Jean never came back.  But Scott and the professor have to.

Hugh Jackman was on form as ever, but none of the charactors really got the opportunity to shine or develop.  It was a very superficial film, although had a deep message for the charactors you really didn't feel you got to see them during the film.

Anyway here is my thoughts what are yours?

I actually really liked it. I'm not sure it was as good as number 2 but it was still pretty good.

Regarding their use of the 'cure' on Magneto, surely there's a different between Magneto's slowly-worked-out plot to mutantize people in film 1 and the life-or-death situation in which using the cure on Magneto stopped him from killing them? Also, why was it not acceptible for them to 'cure' Magneto when it was okay for them to kill lots of his henchmen in the big fight scene.

The only problem was their lack of foresight in using all four doses of the cure on Magneto, meaning there were none left to use on Phoenix!

I quite liked the way Xavier's and Scott's deaths were so quick and unexpected. You're left thinking, "Are they really dead? Hey, they can't really be dead, can they? Surely they can't die this soon!" -- which is exactly what the other characters are thinking.
