TVs

I bought myself a TV today.  It's 23", built in freeview, HD ready and I have been playing with it since I bought it.  Although I have yet to work out how to record from the TV on to video but I have discovered how to watch a video, and watch a DVD.  I haven't yet to tune in my Playstation but am enjoying ditital TV although there are an awful lot ot repeats, and ITV isn't fantastic, it seams to tune itself in and out.  Some of the channels say encrypted so I still don't know what that means. 

The boys and I want a TV and a video/DVD combo downstairs in our front room.  We do have a TV but it doesn't have a SCAT socket so.... and this is where things get a bit confussing.  I'm going to take the old TV I had, which is small, back to my mothers since it is her's.  And get her big TV which I'm pretty sure does have a SCAT socket, and do a swap.  That way the boys and I just need to get a DVD/VHS combi and then we have the perfect set in the front room.

The only reason I'm going home this weekend is because it's her birthday, she doesn't know I'm going home to see her or that I'm going to clean her entire house from top to bottom, make her a birthday cake and cook her a meal, and proberly, because I'm such a nice person, mow her lawn and do her ironing.  Ironing is something my mother really hates doing.  One thing I'm not looking forward to is covering my hand and keeping it hidden.
