Spider-Man was great. My one grip was Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. It never really sat well with me. But other's liked him so I accepted it and just enjoyed the film.
Spider-Man 2 was pretty awful, but there was enough in there to keep my interest. I was glad however i didn't see it at the cinema, I really don't think it's worth the £7 ticket to see it. I got it on DVD for £2. Again was conviced about Peter Parker or Mary Jane for that matter. It all felt so fake.
As for Spider-Man 3, I was looking forward to the release but have to admit I wasn't holding my breath for a good film. My flat mate N and I saw it. *Interesting side note, N has the worse luck with our local cinema. The first time he went the film broke and he got a free cinema ticket. The second time he went a fight broke out in the film, he got covered in coke and pop corn and got a free cinema ticket. So with trepidation he went to the cinema. He didn't get a free cinema ticket!* The film didn't have much of a plot, he seamed to re-hash everything that had happened within the last two film, the chemistry between parker and MJ sucked more than usual. Way too many special effects. It became one fight, after another, after another. Too many villian, not enough time spent dealing with any particular issue. The acting was wooden. Not one person in the film, well except for Aunt May, acted particularly well. There were a few comedy moment that make me laugh. The film was too long and I got fidgety which is not good when you're in a crowded cinema. I felt like they needed to split the film into two, or leave half the film out. Wouldn't go and see it again, and almost hate the fact I forked out £7 to see it.
Fidget Rating: 8
Film Rating: 4
Amen. You hit the nail on the head (though I seem to remember liking
Spider-Man 2--maybe I was intoxicated when I went to the film, because I
couldn't tell you much about it). SM3 was pretty crappy. A few laughs here
and there, but your criticisms are dead on.
