I love the idea of having a secret admirer. Someone who leaves you gifts of affection. I love the idea of wondering what the next item could be or when it might arrive. I love the idea of getting excited of what you might get, who it might be, whether it's someone you know, or is it that person you dislike and gives you the creep or is it someone who you just don't know and they only know you from afar. I like the idea that some likes me enough that they would go out of their way to leave me gifts or notes. I like the idea that with each of these items and each of these notes that there is a clue to who this person is. I love the idea of playing detective to work out who it is.
This is what's happened to me at the moment. On Valantines Day, on my profile on a well known social network site, some annoymous person has given me a heart and a message that says "Happy Valentine's Day, you are looking great xxx". I just dismissed this as spam.
My head wouldn't let this go and now my head is racing with a number of different ideas of who or what could have sent it.
1. This is spam. This is what I'm thinking it actually is, but (there is always a but) wouldn't they have left there name, an advert, and they would have made me invite friends to see the message. Another reason it can't be spam is because I am unsearchable. I have to invite you to be my friend before you can see my page or access anything on my page. So a spammer couldn't get hold of me.
2. They wrote "You are looking great". 90-95% of my friends have not seen me for over a year, they have no idea what I look like these days. But why write you are looking great.
I don't know if this is real or not. I love the idea of a secret admirer but it's also a little creepy. So I say this 'if this is real and you read this, if you meant what you write, let me know who you are.'.
It's probably nothing and my imagination running away from me, but we're allowed to dream a little and why not on valentines day, which was made for the dream. I know who I want it too be. The other thing about this is that most people I know when they write kisses they just leave two, so it becomes 'xx', but in this case there are three kisses 'xxx'. I've seen this before somewhere and for the life of me I just can't work it out. Not at all.
The problem is that my head has also taken this to another level. What if this person ends up stalking me. I've had that a couple of times in my life, the thought of going through all that again, I do not relish.
So they are the facts. What do you think?
