I have a few phobia's but Saturday 2nd June night I had to try and deal with two of them. Well I didn't really deal with them, let me explain.
S, my flat mate, and I were watching Kill Bill, which I must say is a brilliant film, and I really needed the loo so I got him to pause it while I went up to the bathroom. I opened the door switched the light on and faced phobia number one almost running over my foot. SPIDER! I jumped onto the ledge of the bath (I was in bare foot) and called for S. (I looked like one of those typical woman, whom I hate, on films that scream). He came up and killed it for me. I thanked him. I closed the door and there was another spider. I called for S again. (I still hadn't used the loo at this point). I told him where it was and I went to my room to put some socks on since my foot was cold. He them used the bathroom (I still hadn't gone!) so I used the loo downstairs carefully checking everywhere before I sat down. We met in the front room and he told me there was a third in there. I asked him where, he just told me I didn't want to know. So I didn't ask. Curiosity got the better of me. It was on the toilet seat!
So we watched the end of Kill Bill, and watched Kill Bill vol 2. And this is where Phobia 2 came in. At one point in this film Uma Thurman is buried alive and then fights her way out of the coffin and through the dirt. I have a fear of suffocation/burying alive/hanging. So I'm on the couch hiding from the first part which is when you see her in the coffin and hear the dirt fall on her. Every time the dirt hits the coffin I jump a mile. I'm sweating at this point and my heart is beating so fast I swear it's about to explode. The second part when she's fighting her way out, I have fingers in my ears, sweating with fear and S is just there smiling. I wasn't even looking at the film at this point. I just couldn't. I'm sure if it wasn't for the fact I was terrified he would have laughed at me. I must have looked like a sight. I actually almost cried at one point.
I went to bed terrified my dreams who be horrendous but instead I slept 8 soild hours, first time I've done that in ages. I do hate phobias, but I hate having to deal with them more!

As a cure for insomnia, it sounds a bit drastic.
