Before I got my current job I signed up to a number of websites to help me find a job. Each of these jobs has my CV. I've actually forgotten some of the websites that I have signed up to but today I got a surprising email.
It was an email from one of the above mentioned websites that I had forgotten about. Someone had got my details from the website and sent me some information about a job and the fact they would like me to apply for the job as I seamed to be perfect for the job. I read over the details carefully and it's basically the job I'm doing now just being paid £8-10K more. It would mean moving away from where I currently am, and relocating.
This blew me away that someone would seek me out like this. However for many different reasons I turned it down. But it's got me thinking about my current job, what's going on and what I should be doing etc. We're hopefully having an appraisal this year so I'm going to think about the job, about the project and about where I fit into it, and what it needs. I don't think I could wangle a pay raise so it mentions the for-mentioned job but I think it's time there was a bit of shake up with what is going on there. We've been open nearly two years. I don't feel we've got as far forward as I hoped we would have and there is still a lot we can do if I could just sit down and do it, and know that it's okay that I arrange things. I have to write my ideas down and carefully think about things. I need to think about what my role is within the project, what the project needs and how best to accomplish this? Who is going to be involved, how are people going to be involved and what is the final aim of what is going to happen.
I haven't really thought about this a lot other than what I've written down here, but I am going to put SG1 on, after I've eaten and think about these things and how best to accomplish what I would like to see happen.
