I actually had high expectations for this film it looked fantastic. I was bitterly dissappointed. I went to see it with my flatmates F and N, N got confused and F didn't know quite what to think. I just got board. I didn't like the camera work. So much of the camera work was done via stedy came. I don't like this form of camera work. I get motion sickness and my eyes hurt for the first half hour or so. It's so not nice.
I was extremely impressed with the one shot scenes that were filmed, like the seige near the end of the film. It blew me away but it didn't really make up for the rest of the film.
The dirrector did a great job at making the world look depressing and grey, and Michael Caine was a great as the voice of hope and joy. He created a marijuana plant that you smoke and then cough and you taste strawberries. He called it Strewberry cough. Charlie Humman was also in the film (Queer as Folk Fame) and his charactor really got on my nerves, if I could I would have gone into the film and shot him myself.
Although there were some mind blowing parts there is not enough to redeeme it. I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got nothing better to do and it's on TV. Don't do what I did and waste money on the film.

The wobbly camera only bothered me occasionally, so I really enjoyed it. It
was a really realistic-looking future, totally believable. It kept giving
the sense that the characters were really in danger, and I really didn't
know what was coming next for most of the second half. Lots of surprises.
